Vang Kits |
A
must on any boat, large or small, boom vangs are primarily
used to control the leech of the mainsail by restraining the
boom from rising when sailing. This helps eliminate excessive
sail twist which when left uncontrolled can make your boat
unstable with an increased tendency to roll in waves.
Investment
cast snap shackles offer quick and exacting placement of
the tackle allowing the system to be moved to the toe rail
for use as a preventer. This arrangement ”prevents”
the boom from swinging back into the boat in light air and
also helps avoid accidental gybes in heavy air.

| Lazy
Jacks |
Lazy
Jacks are designed to control the mainsail when reefing or
dousing. They easily tame today's Full Batten Mainsails and
work well with more conventional sails. Schaefer's Lazy Jacks
”funnel” the sail down to the boom and retain
it, keeping you safe in the cockpit to properly secure the
sail when you are moored. Our design allows for the use of
an existing sailcover without the need for extensive modifications.
The use of thimbled eye straps attached to the bottom of your
boom keep the hardware away from the cover and enable you
to tuck your sailcover under the lazy jack control lines. |
| Reefing
- Jiffy Reef Slides/Blocks |
Jiffy
Reefing allows an entire “slab” to be quickly
removed from the mainsail to reduce sail area and power in
”heavy–air” conditions. With the mainsheet
and main halyard eased, Jiffy Reefing lines pull the aft reef
grommet tight to the boom. A separate reef line attached to
the forward reef grommet is then tightened, pulling the sail
tight and flat at the gooseneck. The halyard is then tightened
and the mainsheet is trimmed with a new reduced sail area.

with all systems, our Pre-Feeder is helpful if you intend
to change sails or sail shorthanded. Aligns your luff tape
before it enters into the Stainless Steel feeder on the extrusion
foil. Welded bail allows for shock cord or line attachment
to keep the feeder close to the headstay. |
